CA should have a law PROHIBITING out-of-state money for propositions
If the conservatives want to "let the states decide" important issues like abortion, gay marriage, etc., then outside money from the other 49 states or anywhere else should not be allowed. This includes the casino money from Nevada from casinos trying to force their way into California. NO OUT-OF-STATE money.

6. Such laws have been passed in various states
but have been ruled unconstitutional by the courts.

7. 'No right to question?' -- What about due process of law?
I realize that "rights" can indeed be used by culprits, especially corporate ones, in manipulative ways, but surely SOME kind of process should exist, no?

8. Every state should.
When AL was trying to legalize a lottery, the contributors were from GA, TN & MS who all have lotteries & would miss the revenue. Now, we have Riley and Seigleman went to jail.

Sigh.

10. yeah...because, that would be so easy to enforce and all...
for instance- an out-of-state person or group could make a donation to their favorite california church or charity, who could then use what would then be THEIR money as they saw fit.

13. maybe it should be a federal law
we had some out of town outfit come to write a decieving proposal concerning gay marriage here in Michigan during the 2004 election.
NO-out of state money is a good proposal. I wonder though, how would it affect candidates?
