Stop payment on the check!

My best friend is a Republican, and never did I dream we'd find common ground in a political issue. Last night I sent her this link http://bailoutmainstreet.com/ for a petition to get Congress to stop the bailout to rich banks. I asked her, are you comfortable with footing the bill to fork over a trillion of our tax dollars to give a few huge banks the capital to buy up hundreds of smaller banks that are in trouble? This is a welfare give-away on a huge scale! It really sticks in my craw, and the big bankers who are getting this bail-out money aren't even using it for what Treasury Secretary Paulson said they would - loans to get the economy moving again. They're sitting on the free loot and waiting for banks to go bankrupt and then plan to use the money to add to their assets.

I pointed out to her how she's always going on about the government handing out our money to free loaders who don't do anything to earn it, and how this is bigger - much bigger. There's a movement to get Congress to take back OUR money. Go sign the petition! http://bailoutmainstreet.com/

And this morning, guess what! She said she was pissed over the big money give-away and would sign the petition! You all should go sign it too! Maybe we can get Congress to stop payment on the check!
