about "conservatives" (I put that in quotes for obvious reasons) which showed them to be incapable of cognitive dissonance, much more comfortable being told what to think and where to go, clear rules, not a lot of questioning. In other words, they aren't as smart as liberals and they have a high need for "safety", whereas libs tend to be less fearful.
They will never realize they have been lied to; though I anticipated this so I spent a lot of time saying to them, "you are being lied to. Just wait until after the election when it all comes out. Don't say you didn't know, because I am telling you now. You are being used and lied to. Empower yourself with information."
Of course, not a one of them ever did so.
On an unrelated note, a friend of mine whom I feared was going to vote for McCain (and thus end our friendship) called me today and announced that he had voted for Obama because he heard McCain/Palin going on about how he wasn't American and it really pissed him off. After he cast his vote, he still didn't realize how much he wanted Obama as president and why. It wasn't until he was elected that he knew his true feelings; He said he was vastly relieved and now realizes that many of the "white trash" (I've NEVER heard him use that word before) that he works with have gotten on his last nerve due to their overt racism and inability to deal with reality.
Change comes in different ways to some folks, I guess. So long as it comes, finally, there is great hope.
Not so much for those who can't think for themselves; i.e., the freeps.
