7. Great news. Barack stretched the blue line from Maine all the way to NC.

First sitting Senator since Kennedy elected President.

First Dem from outside the Deep South since Kennedy to be elected President. Although some might argue that you can't get any more south than Hawaii :-)

Biggest popular vote percentage in twenty years.

Biggest popular vote percentage by a Dem in forty four years.

McCain 1,442,673 pop votes 49%
Obama 1,436,814 pop votes 49%

I'm sure those people who worked for Obama in Missouri are wrecks & I'm sure they want the provisionals counted!
