If we had kicked Sioux County out of Iowa prior to 2004, Kerry would have won Iowa by a couple hundred votes.

...and it will make more sense.

The only counties in Alabama that went blue were Jefferson (inner city B'ham from where white folks fled a couple of decades ago) and the Black Belt, which is chiefly rural, predominantly African-American and has Third World level living conditions.

17. Curious point. It would be cool to see some cross tabs
with respect to the red areas- as well as the blue areas, like Marin.

I bet there are a lot of interesting things that can be teased out of the data.

Yeah, baby!

Prince Georges County, MD is majority AA, but is very ethnically diverse. We have everything from almost inner-city crime to multi-million dollar mansions, all within a relatively short drive. I'm from the very northern tip of the county, which was pretty solid Obama territory. I was down in Accokeek, which is the very southern part by the Potomac River over the weekend, and saw nothing by McCain/Palin signs.

So hell yeah, I'm proud!
