Patrick Leahy is my first thought.

An important criteria for selection is recall.
The new AG should be able to recall the past,
so as to prosecute crime instead of lying to cover up crime!

As I recall, the criminals are well-known,
as are there crimes. Will the next AG have recall too?

9. I was thinking about Spitzer this morning :(
He helped get the NY Senate to go blue again this year. I was totally hoping he'd be NY gov for a while and then national office.

Such a smart guy, and I am so disappointed.

4. If it were not for his mistress problem...
John Edwards would be my choice.

The only reason the mistress is a problem is the media

5. I totally agree. When he dropped out of the race, I felt sure he would be AG. Until is affair.
I would have liked him for DOL, too. But he's done, and that's too bad.

7. How about Johnathan Turley from GU. He's the legal beagel who
appears on most of the cable shows. He has the right personality to work very well with Obama, and his opinions have always been right on the mark!

8. No one. Obama's AG will serve the American people, as it should be. :-)
Bush used the AG has his personal ass-coverer, but I think Obama will make the AG the people's attorney again.

That said, I'd love to see RFK Jr. as AG.
