Why are you here????
GET OUT & GET PEOPLE TO THE POLLS!!! Every little bit counts!!! I've been under the weather since July & it's been very hard to get up & at 'em, but today I got up at 5 a.m, went to Wal-Mart to get a poster board, reminded FIVE PEOPLE THERE THAT TODAY IS ELECTION DAY (seriously), and am now taking a short break before I go stand at my polling place with my "VOTE 4 HOPE HERE" sign. I'm in it for the long haul. If I can do it, anyone can! LET'S GO!! OBAMANOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

79. The good news is that the canvassers finished the other areas so now
We're hitting the more outlying ones.

The bad news is that Public Works decided to detour around and barricade one of our polling locations for a "routine" re-paving job. In a mostly black semi rural area. One of our people got pics and reported it to Obama HQ. AND she is sending it into CNN's election I-reporter site. A county commissioner has been contacted and the trucks are being pulled, but we don't know how long it was blocked off.

My husband was there at about 8 pm last night plastering the road side with Obama signs and there was no indication there was construction planned for today.

37. Remind people to go vote
Very easy:

"Have you voted yet?"

If "yes," say "Wonderful! Thanks for voting!"

If "no," say "The polls are open until (whatever time the polls are open in your area. Please take the time to go vote."

Easy-peasy.

38. We're Taking A Dozen or So First Time Voters
We're going to have a party here today...or should I say my son is...most of these are his friends who are first time voters (many from formerly repugnican families) who will be voting in their first election and voting for Senator Obama. We did this in 2004 with 8 kids...this year we've contacted over 20 and will be happy if 15 show. We're going to the polls and then back here to watch the results and hopefully celebrate.

Cheers...

Luckily between the Obama campaign and Move On they let you make calls from home to remind people to vote. Pretty decent of both to make it possible to help out even with two broken feet.:)

An upside, had to go get x-rays yesterday and to get there had to travel through some red, red areas of PA. Obama signs out number McCain signs in one township 7 to 2 and were about equal in two others.

61. I voted absentee
But I still want to cry.
It is not that I don't want Obama to win. It is just that all we ever have to choose from for president is a man. The repugs trotting out caribou barbie is like a knife in my heart. Women have fought for so long to gain equal status but this sexist country can't see fit to even nominate (much less even vote for) a woman for the highest office in the land.
I know Obama is a historic first and will be a great president but his victory will still be bittersweet for me.
