Going back on regular time is very hard on us older folks. We have had breakfast, then snack of smoked tuna on toast points and now I am cooking a big Sunday dinner. We will be ready for bed at 3pm at this rate, and we have election bliss alternating with anxiety, and get-this-the-hell-over-with alternating with Obama's "chill out, I've got this..." message ringing in our ears. My niece sent me an email with this wonderful thought: "I am without a doubt one of the most peace loving people on the planet, but I find myself thinking that the successful assassian will be a national hero of epic purportion.  If these thoughts even cross my mind . . .there are hundreds of people out there dwelling upon it." Her spellcheck is broke, not to mention her mind. Sorry I had to plant that one on you, but old folks have a hard time on the LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR!! MSNBC, which has comforted me these last couple of months, is useless this long, long morning. Thanks for listening. You are my peace and salvation.

1. I think we should get rid of daylight savings time...

3. I have been outside much of the day, picked mustard greens for a fresh lunch

dish, chopped up some old bread and moistened it to feed to my chickens, watered my hay bale garden, as it is beautifully warm and sunny and that is hard on winter crops. Picked up some trash. Having a good time. Wrote a long answer to my niece. Perused DU 2 long sessions. Reading a book. Doing laundry. Much to do, but this election is hanging there.

4. I have chickens too.

I never thought of wetting bread before giving it to them. I worry about giving them bread because they don't chew and it seems they might choke, but wetting might solve that problem.
