UNpurged, "Loyal Bushie" US Attorney refuses to prosecute Obama assasination skinheads
http://firedoglake.com/2008/09/18/can-bushs-justice-department-do-its-job-when-it-comes-to-protecting-barack-obama/

Troy Eid, the Rove-appointed U.S. Attorney in Colorado who tossed off the case of the would-be Obama assassins, is deeply concerned about meanie bloggers he blames for the resulting spate of bad press.

This is the same U.S. Attorney who was forced upon Coloradans by Karl Rove, despite being profoundly compromised by his associations with Jack Abramoff. Not only was Eid hired while Monica Goodling was calling the shots, his chief deputy was "vetted" by Goodling.

Two questions arise -- one minor, one major:

-- How often has Troy Eid ignored the FBI's recommendations in the past when it comes to filing charges in cases of this nature? (We know when it came to a black man inside a prison threatening John McCain -- despite a clear lack of capability of actually carrying out the threat -- Eid was eager and willing.)

4. Another Reminder, Not That One Is Needed, As To What's At Stake Tuesday
One of the first priorities of an Obama administration is to clean out the Justice Department of these Goodlingniks and other political operatives and restore some independence and true justice to the system. A big victory on Tuesday not only means giving the boot to this scumbag, Muck-Assey and their ilk, but to create the momentum to push for a full accounting of all the political criminality that went on over the past 8 years.

Cheers...

9. one of the most exciting things that Obama brings to the presidency
is the fact that he is a Constitutional lawyer and understands exactly what this country needs to survive.

I have hope for the first time in years that we might have a chance for a future.

13. I hope with all my heart that these crimes are prosecuted.
I hope that calls for "amity and bipartisanship and working together" don't derail what needs to be done to prevent a recurrence of these abuses every single time the Repubs take the reins...

It has to be followed through, for the sake of the nation...

7. The Bush US Attorneys should be the first people investigated by the FBI under Obama
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 08:23 AM by TexasObserver
And those guilty of violating their duties for political reasons should be prosecuted.

There are at least a dozen US attorneys who should be prosecuted for foisting these bogus "voter fraud" cases, for going easy on GOP terrorists, and for refusing to prosecute cases like this recent one.

8. If we don't make a concerted effort to clean up the mess and
prosecute, they will do it again and again.

15. If Obama is elected he's going to have a huge house to clean.
With help from people like Pres. Gore I'll bet they've got a streamlined agenda that will facilitate the gigantic ball of crap that needs to be undone, like manana.
