Tweety says Obama will win about 340 electoral college votes
and there will be several Senate surprises. Peggy Noonon says she senses something big - we are entering a new liberal moment.

I'm enjoying his comments.

1. Nice - I hope the new era ushers in a new show in that time slot!

2. Five sightless people feeling a battleship and describing its crew.
The axes are being ground. Nooner is her usual smarmy, unctious, self-aggrandizing self. Joe spews his usual superficial biases. Mika is busy positioning herself at the shifting center, eager to please. Barnacle is Barnacle and Tweety sees the country through a Mid-Atlantic lens.

3. He is in love with Obama,
Obama is his new man crush.

Did you watch Hardball last night? The guest was talking about "soft" republicans, and Tweety pipes up with "what does that mean? Do they need Viagra or something?" I almost fell out of my chair.

5. The Republicans thought so too
the last decade or so. All things come to an end, some sooner rather than later. If they don't get a good handle on this recession or make a major blunder things could turn very quickly in 2010 and 2012. The public has a very short leash...

6. Plan Your Work...Work Your Plan
The Obama campaign will be studied for years in how well it operated...both on a functional and strategic level.

Plouffe and Axelrod saw the road-map for both the primaries...get big wins early and then for the general...take the election to "soft" red states (Virginia, Colorado and New Hampshire) and force the opposition to play from behind. They also sized up how inept a candidate Gramps would be (I think he's surpassed all our estimates on that front) and how the more defense he was forced to play, the more mistakes he would make.

Also, there's the 50-state work of Dr. Dean and the long, but very productive primary season...it turned Obama into a better candidate and his campaign into a well-oiled machine. I keep hearing of the GOOP's feared "72-hour operation"...but I sense that we're just about to see a real ground game on Tuesday.

7. 1/21/2009, a staffer will hear sobbing coming from a broom closet
and Tweety will be found crying, with his pants around his ankles, in a compromising position with his autographed photo of W in his flight suit ...
