1. LIBOR index fucks homeowners and rewards the criminal behavior of financial execs
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 03:26 AM by thunder rising
The LIBOR, the bank interchange rate, is commonly used as an index on adjustable mortgages. It reflects the level of confidence the banks have in each other; hence, since banks are using the government bailout for acquisitions instead of loan making (the intent) the LIBOR is at an all time high.

The upside of this for the criminals is that they rake in money as a reward for their criminal behavior.

2. Nope.
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 03:34 AM by LeftyMom
I rent, and everybody I know who owns a home is doing okay.

Houses here are actually looking downright reasonable for the first time in a decade or more. Of course, now that I can actually afford the payments, nobody's writing loans to anybody within shouting distance of my income bracket.

6. I actually needed to vote in two catogories in this poll...
I worked in the home building industry - architectural designer in an architectural firm and was laid off last January and have been unable to find work since... Consequently we could loose our house - a very modest home in a working class neighborhood, that square footage wise is not much bigger than the "ranch" house I grew up... AM I better off than I was 4 or 8 years ago - Hell NO! I don't understand why Republikans have the GALL to think they deserve another chance at "governing" (Still amazes me at how much these people HATE government, but try so hard to CONTROL us - Hypocritical bastards)

Sorry - I'm frustrated and venting

15. Well, it did today.
Just met a couple whose daughter actually left the keys on the kitchen counter.
Her husband left her and quit making mortgage payments.
She has a child and is now in an apartment and working two jobs.
