I'll watch nothing but FOX for the next 6 days just so I'll be pleasantly surprised when Obama wins next tuesday night.

I actually may watch them a good bit tuesday night, just for the pleasure of seeing them endure the slow death on screen as the polls close moving west.

8. I know I will turn on Fox after returns come in
nothing like seeing Morton Kondrake all shocked and afraid.

In 2006 it was LOTS of fun

He almost started crying on the air

9. I commend you. So will I.
Fox would love nothing better than to lie unobserved. If anyone wants to be totally involved in how we are being manipulated - watch Fox. Not watching is hiding our heads in the sand. Suck it up. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

I'll be right there watching it with you, at least on that day.

14. Consider It Like Watching An Episode Of The Twilight Zone...
Ya hear that big suckin' sound? That's the hot air slowly being released on the Faux Noise Channel...or to paraprhase Hugo Chavez...maybe it's "sulfur"

While you're at it, scan hate radio every couple hours...you're sure to hear heads exploding all over the AM dial...or to the religious stations who have already started their Dobson prayer vigils.

I'm seeing two types of people these days. One group...a vast majority of DU included...that are very involved with this election. We can't wait to vote and this last week will be a roller coaster ride of polls and emotions. The other are people who just want this thing over with...the endless campaigning, non-stop commercials and stagnant nature of this country along with a strong dose of cyincism have taken hold. It's not as though these people aren't going to vote, it's just getting too thick out here...and in many ways, I don't blame them.

I keep track of the Faux Evil Empire on Newshounds...seems to be a general frustration in Rupert's World that they can't get much traction on the slimes they've put out. They went all in on both Wright and Ayers and it's done nada.

BTW...you can play a game I used to when listening to hate radio...just invert the words and charges...turn Ayers into Liddy or socialism into corporate greed...soon they start making more sense than even they realize.

Cheers...

:hi:

16. What It's Like To Watch FOX News For 24 Straight Hours
John Oliver once watched FOX for eight hours, and said afterward that "I may have lost something deep down in my soul." I did 22 (if you discount my sandwich break), and while I think I escaped with my soul intact, I'm not sure I'll ever be quite the same. But at least I've still got my nuts intact.

And closely allied:

Life on Daily Mail Island
A month spent reading the nation's leading mid-market newspaper took me into a terrifying, depressing world, filled with suspicion.

Please excuse me if I seem a little peculiar. I have just returned from a country where bubonic plague has broken out, violent criminals roam the streets, and child slavery is commonplace.

Millions of its inhabitants are malnourished, and danger lurks in seemingly innocent places - like milk, bread, and garden sprays. Ponies - yes, ponies - are slaughtered for the gastronomic pleasure of the country's neighbours. A Stasi-style surveillance state is secretly plotting to turn them all vegetarian, and to top it all there's even a Wicked Witch who - until very recently - exerted a malign influence over the nation's ruler.

Readers of the Daily Mail will recognise immediately where I'm talking about. Others will be surprised to learn that I'm referring to twenty-first century Britain. But this is the picture you'd get from unadulterated consumption of the Mail. I know, because I've just done it. It was weird.

Inspired by the spoof 'Daily Mail Island' reality TV show/Lord of the Flies re-creation:

VGoHome was a website which parodied the television listings style of the British magazine Radio Times. It was produced fortnightly from 1999 to 2001, and sporadically until 2003, by Charlie Brooker. The site now exists only in archive form.
...
Daily Mail Island, a reality TV show where several normal people are deposited on an island and not allowed access to any media other than the strongly right-wing and conservative Daily Mail newspaper, leading to them becoming progressively more irrational as the series progresses - for example, tying teenage lovers together with sacks on their heads and beating them <2>, or sealing a teenager caught masturbating into a coffin filled with broken glass and dog faeces and throwing it over a cliff <3> and their language devolving into rhetorical questions and sarcastic snorts <4>.

24. I think they may enjoy being "out of power"
That way they can be unrestrained in their "I hate the government" screed and also it fits into their "I am an oppressed victim" meme. Like Ralph Nader, it may help their fundraising too.
