Drove my semi yesterday to Belvidere, Illinois. Sixty miles south of
Rockford, Illinois I picked up 92.5 FM and listened to Thom Hartmann live all the way to Belvidere. Crystal clear reception. BRAVO!!!

Chicago's Progressive Talk Radio expanded to multiple FM stations!!!

Dear WCPT Listener,

Even though it’s early to declare victory in the election, we have some news for you that is almost as good! Starting this Monday, Progressive Talk programming moves to the FM dial. Beginning Monday at 5:00 am and going until 9:00 pm, Progressive Talk will be heard on 92.5-FM (Western Suburbs, Rockford and Southwest Wisconsin), 92.7-FM (Northern Suburbs, Chicago North Side and Southern Wisconsin) and 99.9-FM (Southern Suburbs, Chicago South Side and Northwest Indiana). In addition, WCPT-AM at 820-AM will continue to broadcast Progressive Talk from sunrise until sunset. The Dance Factory program will air on the three FM stations from 9:00 pm until 5:00 am, however, you will still be able to hear Progressive Talk after 9:00 pm each night by going to our new web address at www.chicagoprogressivetalk.com .

Since WCPT signed-on at 850-AM from Crystal Lake and later moved to 820-AM, we have developed a growing, passionate and loyal audience. Chicagoans deserve more Progressive Talk radio and with the addition of three new FM signals, our message will not only be heard by thousands of more people, but we will also be there every morning, no matter what month of the year that it is.

We want to thank each and every listener to WCPT on the AM dial. Without your support of the station and our advertisers, we would not be able to take this wonderful step. Now, Progressive Talk radio is there for you on the AM and the FM, in the AM and the PM! Our expanded lineup will be:

5:00 am – 8:00 am – The Bill Press Show
8:00 am – 11:00 am – The Stephanie Miller Show
11:00 am – 2:00 pm – The Ed Schultz Show
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm – The Thom Hartmann Show
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm – The Rachel Maddow Show
8:00 pm – 9:00 pm – The Ron Reagan Show
9:00 pm – 5:00 am – Dance Factory

Join us on the FM dial this Monday at 5:00 am at the new home of Progressive Talk, 92.5-FM, 92.7-FM or 99.9-FM, or you can still listen to us at 820-AM.

5. We need to bring more liberal radios to the heartland
And we need to seriously go after the advertisers who do not want to advertise on lib radio.

7. 99.9 FM came in loud and clear on IN Rt 41, 70 miles south of Chicago. I
soon lost their signal on I-94 the closer I got to Michigan City, Indiana to a country western station.

8. With Mike Malloy's popularity in Chicago, I don't understand why
they don't pick up his show.

9. 99.9 Has A Very Big Reach To The South Too
That station is a 30+ thousand watt FM station with the transmitter on the east edge of I57. It's about 65 miles south of Chicago and 20 miles from the IL/IN state line. It's very high fidelity and has little bandwidth competition.

It will easily transmit 50 miles to the north and 90 miles to the south. I know for a fact that you can pick it up in Champaign.

The only downside is that it was my wife's favorite music station. So, she's bummed and happy at the same time.

10. I have to drive to Danville and Champaign today. I'll see if I can
pick it up. I guess they had I-74 west bound shut down for a time yesterday afternoon for a bad accident.
