1. Thank you southernleftylady. I've been wanting to start a thread on this very

topic. I get so depressed when I log on to DU and see the Latest Page filled with vile, racist crap from McCain & Palin rallies, and FR. I choose to follow Obama's lead in these matters. Some people here act as though they just discovered racism. Well, speaking for myself, as an AA, I've known it existed my whole life, and I choose to try and find the good in people, not the nasty.

Obama's positive message seems to get lost in all the negative sensationalism of the McCain/Palin campaign. It's not only here at DU, because I've become so frustrated with KO, Rachel, Thom Hartmann, and all those who choose to focus so much on the race angle. I know they mean well, but it serves no positive purpose, it only serves to raise people's blood pressure. Thanks again.
