Poll question: How much is your combined cable (or satellite), internet, and landline bill?
This poll is just for those who have this exact combo.

If you don't have any one of the three, please don't vote.

Cell phones don't count, so if you only have a cell phone and no landline, don't vote.

I'm wondering just how much Comcast is screwing my wife and I.

If you care to post specifics of your cost, packages and vendors, I welcome it.

3. $174.00 on Comcast..
I have the package that includes HBO, so it's pretty steep. I'm planning to downgrade to save some money.

4. Dish network $100, phone & DSL $75
I could cut back on sat. programming & save 50 and could dump DSL go back to dialup and save 35 but don't want to do either.

5. didn't vote but have cable and internet at reduced rates brighthouse
Brighthouse cable which is time warner is $33 through a community of 900 homes so it is cheaper and comes with lots of channels
Internet is 41 and will go up to 46 in six months and this is

I use magic jack for phone at $20 a year (voip and it is flakey at times but serves my purpose)
I have cell at $5 / month

so even with bare minimum my cost are high
33 + 41 + 5 + 2 = $81/mth

Many advertise $100/mth plans so those that are over that are getting extras

6. didn't vote because I don't have that combo, but here's my situation...
...just in case there's relevant info for you. I have cable internet only-- no TV!-- and use Vonage over the internet for my phone service-- technically a landline, although not a traditional one. I LOATHE television, and absolutely need a fast working internet connection-- I do a lot of work in my home office-- so I have no problems paying for the cable for internet only.

Suddenlink high speed internet: $49.95/mo
Vonage unlimited phone: $24.95/mo

8. My situation is similar to yours:
have cable Internet, use ViaTalk for my Voip, but have just basic cable - sometimes I really need the distraction. ViaTalk is less than $15 per month and Comcast is $65 (for basic & 'net).

14. Didn't vote but just wanted to add my $.02 worth...

I've been out of work since this past January. To cut back we dropped the Comcast triple play (whcih was scheduled to go up for us anyway as we had gone through the entire $99/mo to 1 year discount). We were paying $99 mo + taxes (Don't remember exact price with tax but was less than $120 and was going to go to $120 + tax).

Anyway, IMHO internet is ESSENTIAL for job hunting, so we switched to AT&T "Naked" DSL(1.5 mb/256) service for a GRAND TOTAL of $37/mo (No TAX even)!!!!

We are able to watch shows on-line also - have even connected the main TV to the PC so as to watch stuff more comfortably from the couch. For phone service we use a VOIP provider called MagicJack - NOT the greatest service, but it works - sort of.

I also gave up my $40/mo Metro PCS with unlimited calling for a "pay as you go" phone which I've been very cautious about LIMITING the calls I make and receive, and have been averaging ~18/mo for cell phone - a pretty good savings...

I miss having cable TV, but I can watch most of the episodes I like online (USA has some good shows - Monk, Burn Notice, In Plain Sight that I REALLY enjoy - sadly there are very few episodes every "season" - wish they would make more - The "BIG 3 + Fox" Networks programming are just AWFUL - except for HOUSE!)

15. I'm paying about $75 for Comcast internet and their lowest tier of Digital TV
I refuse to buy their ridiculously over priced phone service. If I'm going to pay as much as I do for a cell phone, I should be able to take it with me.

My telephone service? $20/a year. No, that wasn't a typo. www.magicjack.com

Considering how much we get out of it I think it's acceptable.

21. about $163/month to Comcast for the 3 way combo in SE NH
We have digital cable but no movie package. I'll have to pick up Showtime for a month in December so I can watch all of the new Dexter season through On Demand. That will probably add $15 for that one month, but I'll drop it in January. I'm generally happy with the service, but I'd be pretty uncomfortable paying much more than we are now.

Satellite TV and Satellite internet (NSA can't track you on Satellite). The TV is basic with three local stations. But I also get with that CSPAN 1 and 2, Link TV and Free Speech TV no MSNBC.

23. DirecTV + cable internet + Vonage
I have a I pretty big DirecTV bill since I subscribe to a couple sports packages and I have the top speed package from my cable company for internet (as I often need to work from home via VPN) but I pay only $10/month for Vonage, so it all works out.
