Denver looking for 11,000 missing mail ballots
Denver elections officials are trying to determine what happened to more than 11,000 mail ballots that are unaccounted for.

The U.S. Postal Service said Friday afternoon that its Denver mail processing facility received 10,364 ballots on Oct. 16 and delivered them within a couple days.

But the California printing company hired by Denver Elections said it delivered 21,450 ballots to the postal facility on that date.

The discrepancy has prompted Denver Election Director Michael Scarpello to ask Sequoia Voting Systems to give him paperwork to prove that the Porterville, Calif., printing plant that shipped the ballots.

2. This is the kind of thing that happened in Florida in 2000, it's what Obama warned about ...
... and what Maddow was talking about on tonight's show.

5. They like to pretend it is
and did even more so in 2004. We have all mail ballots. Oregon was one of the few states that did exactly what was expected in 2004 - all the Gore/Nader votes went for Kerry, and the rest went to Bush, and that's how we carried the state. I don't know how we manage to conduct elections with very few "glitches" and no lost ballots or any of the rest of it.

6. I've been wondering where my mail-in ballot was.
I haven't gotten it yet. Am planning on going to the Election Division on Monday to demand they give me a mail-in, I think they do that if you sign for it. This should make it easier for them to believe my experience of not receiving it. I hope. I'll be really pissed if I have to vote a provisional ballot.

7. Well at least they haven't been voted on yet
If people don't get their ballots they can at least vote in person, if possible.

8. Are you sure about that??
Perhaps they are diligently being "filled in" as we type...all ready to be "found" on election day..and once you have requested a mail in ballot, sometimes you are not allowed to vote in person...:grr:

9. I hadn't thought of that aspect, but just keep telling yourself
that the Gov. is a Dem and the state supreme court has a 5-2 Dem majority.

10. All of the comments are right leaning
who accuse the liberals of stealing the ballots so they can commit voter's fraud. Perhaps we should all have a accusation war and see who can bring the proof of who has really been caught doing it. They are accusing ACORN but I think we have the guy (he worked for the repubs) who was arrested for having done what ACORN was wrongly accused of. I don't waste my time with the idiots though.
