Doug Heckman was a Lt Col. in Iraq- 2006 He is running for Congress against John Linder - the most conservative member in the whole house. He also is very powerful behind the scenes. He was head of the GOP campaign committee. If he wasn't a founding member of GOPAC he certainly was close. He is close friends with NEWT and coauthored a book with Neal Boortz. Need I say more.

It would be as sweet as defeating Saxby Chambliss

3. We think it is realtively close. Here is the scoop.

Doug has a lot of friends in the community. We have a great deal of republican support. Linder wouldn't even show up to any of the forums and refused to debate him at the PBS debate.(no showed). We are trying to organize a protest at Linder's hdqtrs. we need help

Daily Kos to blog about his race? Also, you might want to contact Randi Rhodes (veteran), Ed Schultz or Thom Hartmann as maybe they would have them on their programs. I heard someone on Ed Schultz's program yesterday who was running against a very conservative congressman. I've heard other candidates over the past years on the various progressive radio programs. I think El Tinklenberg was on Thom's program on Monday. The week before he didn't know El was running against Bachmann but was promoting the dumpBachmann website. This was all before her appearance on Chris Matthews.
