Didn't they say the EXACT same thing about Kerry in 2004? Sometimes you really have to wonder whether the right still actually believes their own bullshit...

9. My thought, exactly.
Obama's actually pretty centrist. Just ask DU's Kucinich supporters.

21. Tom Ridge Was Trying to Claim Exactly That
on Chris Matthews last night.

I still have no idea what votes supposedly make him the most liberal senator. Certainly wasn't the FISA bill.

4. Yes, they did. If Hillary would have been nominated, they would be saying the same thing about her.

5. They say that about every single Dem. nominee, every time
Its just rousing the monster they've been cultivating for two decades with their hate radio.

25. Sort of
It's sort of Pavlovian in that sense. They just say 'most liberal' and all their followers start to salivate.

6. That's coz freepers don't know that the Senate voting records are in the public domain

and can easily be checked.

Why bother with actual fact-finding when it's ever so much easier to foam at the mouth and endlessly repeat bullshit.

Then again, if freepers had brains enough to do any actual fact-finding, they wouldn't be freepers.

PS; Obama is ranked #40; there are 39 Democrats with more liberal voting records.

7. Its not true, but they actually believe it, that and they do think he's a Socialist...
I wish he was, but there's only one Socialist Senator, and he isn't running for president. I'm disappointed, but I can tolerate an Obama presidency much better than a McCain presidency.

It's ridiculous.

10. You're right it is BS
It is based on a ranking from the National Journal which cherry picked votes to come up with that ranking.

11. If the Democratic Party nominee was Lindsey Graham for whatever insane reason
They would be calling him the second coming of Karl Marx. It's kinda like the #2 Al-Qaida guy in Iraq; they always seem to find a new one, no matter how many of them get killed.

When you run out of ammo, you have to throw something out there. If trying to scare the electorate with the 'L' word is all they got, then they got nothin'.

This country is ready for some liberal policies after the beating we've taken at the hand of the corporatists and creeping fascism.

Bernie Saunders is my kind of guy. I wish we could clone him and run him in every state.

13. They base it on the National Journal's assessment of 2007
However that same Journal ranked him 16th in 2005 and 10th in 2006. So it is more of half truth kind of thing.

The RW Radio Hatemongers keep the fires of hate and hysteria burning and the sheepies clamor for more.

Truth and reality never enter into the picture with these people.

17. Yeah they pull that one out from time to time.
It basically means "This is the one we really want to beat".

Obama is no radical. He is all about bridging gaps and finding solutions that work for everybody.

You have to remember this: Cons have to trick you to vote against your best interests. They do this by exploiting your fears. People fear terror attacks, communism, foreigners, people who worship differently, minorities, hippies, you name it. All their messages are aimed at exploiting your fear of something. The more fearful you are, the easier you are to con.

They also constantly repeat the lie that Democrats always want to raise your taxes. There is little evidence to support that. Although there is a great deal of evidence that Republicans run up the debt and have a negative impact on employment numbers.

Of course I'm preaching to the choir here, but the more you think about it, the more you see the truth in it.

I wish he would win the general election in a landslide and then prove to be the most liberal president in our history. But I'm not counting on it.

they suddenly morph into the most liberal Senator/Congressperson/Delegate/Judge/County Commissioner/School Board Member that's ever walked the face of the planet??

26. And Joe Biden is the 3rd most liberal Senator
I love Joe, he was my pick for Pres this year early in the primaries. But I don't think of him as a liberal Senator by any definition. He is a good Senator, and will make an excellent VP, but the 3rd most liberal? I don't think so.

I think we should start hyping McCain as the Senator who voted with Bush more than any other Senator. He said it himself.
