Hi. Gov. Lingle warns a crowd of tens that Obama will endanger America.

You may have heard that our Governor, Linda Lingle, is working her flat butt off for McCain.
She introduces Sarah Palin, she's on the road hawking the fear message, she's even gone so far
as to say that Sen. Obama, born and raised here, isn't really local. (Unlike herself, who moved here as an adult. But whatever.)

The Las Vegas Sun published a telling photo of her speaking to a throng of - several - people about how dangerous Obama would be for America. The writer mentioned that they took chairs away before she began speaking, presumably so it didn't look so poorly attended. FAIL.

What you may not know is that Linda Lingle was expected to run for US Senator when either of our Dans retires. But her recent hatefests make a win look less and less likely in this state, that went more than 72% Obama in our caucus.

Thank God all the work here at home is done and we aren't in a budget crisis or anything. Oh wait...she also announced from the road that she's ending our program to insure poor children.
Tootsie:

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2008/oct/16/hawaii-governor-says-nation-wouldnt-be-safe-under-/

"Policy wasn’t mentioned. In fact, she said the two candidates can “talk all they want” about their plans on issues such as health care and energy, but it “really comes down to: Who do you want to be sitting in the White House when it comes down to the security of America?”

McCain’s campaign has come under fire recently for what some have called scare tactics, and McCain was forced to diffuse the fears of his supporters and defend Obama at a recent rally: “He’s a decent family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues and that’s what this campaign is all about.”

Lingle, though, repeatedly framed the presidential election in terms of the physical safety of Americans and painted Obama as a mysterious figure who is uncomfortable with leadership.

She said voting for Obama would put the safety of the country’s children in the “hands of someone we hardly know.” (She also added that despite Obama’s touting he is from Hawaii, she has never met him and he has “never called me on the phone.”)Ultimately the country judges the president by how he deals with the unexpected, Lingle said, and Obama “is not a person who will make the tough calls.”

1. Wow. Glad I wasn't in that crowd.
Elbow to elbow. If the Jolly Green Giant's elbows are involved.
Obama has never called her on the phone? Maybe he hasn't had time, thinks she's irrelevant, or just doesn't like her. What kind of weird statement was that?

4. Seriously!
I wish I knew what she was doing this for. I am sure she knows it's bullshit. She didn't used to be a stupid woman; she won in a very very very blue state because she was known to reach across the aisle.

Now she's pouring gasoline on the church and holding a match. So strange to watch.

We all used to think she was working it to get some kind of appointment in a Bush/whoever cabinet, but it's clear that is not going to be part of the future. So...what? gives?

Tootsie, phone home!

Which one does it seem that people are turning out in huge numbers for?

25. Hey--I speak to that many people every day
That's about the size of one of my classes.

(The second one, obviously; not the first. Community College budgets aren't yet THAT strained).

3. McCain as president is really her only way in
Obama as a Hawaiin coming to the state as president stumping for a DEM replacement to Inouye ('10) or Akaka ('12) would mean he shot is gone. Not sure how she got elected GOV, but what the hey

she's going to lose. As my son said tonight on the phone..talking about him seeing lingle on tv over there.. she's took the republican talking points and ran with them.

Edit~ I heard she got elected 'cause the Dems didn't really have anyone with the fire in the belly who wanted it?

6. Is that one guy asleep? HAHAHA!
Look at that picture of Hawaii Gov. Lingle again.

Check out that one guy at the end, in the white shirt, sort of sitting by himself under the painting.

He looks like he's nodding off and is asleep.

8. HAA!
I count three. Unless they are texting.

Maybe if she did the hokey pokey she'd shake it up a little.

You know, we are pretty open to all kinds of people here. We elected a gay jewish woman to the governor's office twice. But it really frosts my butt that she's out there hustling for the very people who would deny her rights, against those who would protect them.

Crazy!

9. Someone should ask Governor Lingle if she makes more or less than $250,000 annually.
If it's less, then she should answer why she would deny supporting someone who wanted to LOWER her income taxes.

14. Not anymore,
and she isn't out. But everybody knows, and nobody cares, which is good, really.

Only one time somebody made a bumper sticker when W came here and she said she liked him, that said
"Linda Loves Bush."

Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me, how she can work against her own best interests.

don't care what her sexual preferences are but I do care that she gets out there and tries to drag Obama in the gutter with her stupid trash mouth.

Hawai'i deserves better than this.

24. I counted 38...I think.
Wherever there was an indistinguishable blob between two others, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and
included them(?) in the total.

There appears to be someone in the second row wearing a black shirt with a paper bag over their head.

I find myself with lots of spare time, now that I'm no longer a real Amurkin. :hi:
