Spread THE wealth. Not spread YOUR wealth.
Edited on Fri Oct-17-08 01:10 PM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
Spreading the wealth is providing opportunities for the lower and middle classes to increase their financial stability. And yes, one method to do that is to have them pay lower taxes than the wealthier stratuses of society. What is complicated or hard to understand about that?

What doesn't Joe the plumber get? What doesn't John McCain get?

In fact, this seems like John McCain just trying to keep his and Cindy's taxes lower since they will be one of the very small percentage of Americans who would pay a little more. He's just another member of the Republican "I've Got Mine" Club.

1. That is exactly why I turned it to ESPN
Telling more then likely middle class voters that Obama "wants to spread your wealth" which is wholly, completely untrue!!!! Then he says Obama couldn't bring himself to say he won't tax small businesses. He has repeteadly said this!!!! Only 1.4% of small businesses will be effected by Obama's plan!! Then he tells his supporters he's going to give them "straight talk". I almost feel sorry for his supporters how their candidate is lying to them but they are dipshits for falling for it and not checking out the facts and watching Fox News. :argh:

2. In McCain land, everyone is a small business that'll be subject to Obamas tax increases
Witness "Joe the Plumber".
When Obama says he'll roll back the tax cuts of GWB, McCainiacs think he means them.

I hate to use the word "ignorant" to describe entire masses of people, but it's better than saying they're stupid.

3. I wish more people understood that they haven't got any wealth.
I know way too many people who think they're "wealthy" because they make $80k a year. If you work for a living, you haven't got wealth. You've got a certain amount of chits drawn from a system you don't have any control over. People like Cindy McCain have wealth. When Republicans say "we can't be spreading the wealth", they're saying, "let the middle class pay their taxes and keep my system running, but don't you even look at tinkering with my control of that system".

4. I posted something last night ...
... http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=4253573&mesg_id=4253573 in the hopes of finding a way to explain to the talk-radio-information voters how taxes work.

Please add your stuff to it.

6. The distribution of wealth in the USA is about the same in Russia and Mexico.
That is pathetic.
