‘Plumber’ says he has no plumbing license
Joe Wurzelbacher says he wants candidates to stick to issues, not him

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Joe the Plumber, America's most famous tradesman, said Thursday he doesn't have a license and doesn't need one.

Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, the nickname Republican John McCain bestowed on him during Wednesday's presidential debate, said he works for a small plumbing company that does residential work. Because he works for someone else, he doesn't need a license, he said.

But the county Wurzelbacher and his employer live in, Lucas County, requires plumbers to have licenses. Neither Wurzelbacher nor his employer are licensed there, said Cheryl Schimming of Lucas County Building Regulations, which handles plumber licenses in parts of the county outside Toledo.

3. Joe the Plumber related to Charles Keating???
http://www.eisenstadtgroup.com/2008/10/15/joe-the-plumb... /

The above post alleges that Joe the Plumber is related to Charles Keating, the S&L Crook who was buddies with McCain.

Joe the Plumber also has a relative in Milford, Ohio who is a large contributor to many GOP candidates.

6. Maybe they're not bonded and insured either. If they got hurt, they would sue you.
If you hired his company and his employee got hurt at your house, they would sue you. Always check to make sure they are licensed, bonded and insured. Don't be a McCain and recklessly choose anyone off the street.

Wait a minute, isn't that bassackward? The OWNER doesn't need a trade license
if all he does is pay workers...but it seems to me any worker who -does the work- damn sure needs one? Is it different in Ohio?

12. randi is talking all about him!
OMG!

this guy made $40,000 something in 2006, owes back taxes for over 1,000

doesn't believe in social security --he wants to be able to invest his money (randi said so he can invest it and lose it all in the stock market and then we all have to help pay for this guy when he has no money.)

what a fucking loser!

13. I bet his boss is "happy" for all the extra scrutiny HE'LL be getting now..

My youngest son worked "under the umbrella" of HIS boss' contractor's license, but he studied & spent the money & time to get his OWN license..along with the bonding & insurance necessary...why? because he's a responsible person who chose NOT to rely on always having that one particular job, or that his boss would ALWAYS be up to date on all the rules & regs, and our son did not want to have a problem land in his lap someday..

Joe, the plumber probably does "moonlighting" jobs to arrive at his $250K income, and now that he's FAMOUS, he may just be a permanent "moonlighter". :)

Everything George W. Bush touches turns into crap, and he's transfered that magic to McCain.
