On behalf of INTELLIGENT Minnesotans everywhere...I would like to apologize
for the stupid, bigoted, ignorant, racist, hateful behavior of some in the Lakeville crowd at McSame's little gathering.
That does NOT represent my state! That does NOT show the diversity, intellect, decency, and goodness of MOST of the proud people of The North Star State.

What an embarrassment those people are. What an embarrassment McSame is to our country. What an embarrassment Failin' Palin is to thinking people everywhere.
What a sad statement about America, that there are people in this country who are that FUCKING STUPID AND HATEFUL.

Please accept my apologies. That is NOT Minnesota.
GOBAMA, BABY!!!!!

They are an embarrassment to our state and our country

...and my home state of FL ~ the last gasp of an ugly fearfulness that has been allowed to live too long.

5. Minnesota is very cool.
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 06:07 PM by ginnyinWI
I lived there for three years and now my daughter and son in law live there, in the Twin Cities. It's even more progressive than Wisconsin, the parts I've observed anyway.

I now live in Wisconsin, and I felt the same way after that first video--the one where the guy stands up and talks to McNasty about "hooligans". That event occurred ten miles from my home.

22. I've not been real familiar with Wisconsin politics, but I know I
loved going to LaCrosse and the area along the Mississippi when I was a kid...beautiful state!

LaCrosse was where the nearest McDonald's was when I was in High School, believe it or not (I grew up in NE Iowa) and we used to hitchhike up there on Fridays after school, go to McD's for $.75 Big Macs, and hitchhike back home again! *lol* About two hours round trip, but we thought it was worth it!

24. One more Minnesotan who agrees with you grannylib!
That lady from Shakopee was a disgrace.

Now, as for Wisconsin, it is pretty blue near Superior, along the St Croix and Mississippi River Valleys (Alma, Cochrane, Fountain City, LaCrosse, Prairie du Chien). You are also pretty blue in the greater Madison/Dane County area and the inner city Milwaukee area. Not to mention most of the UW College towns (Eau Claire, Stevens Point, etc...). It is really red in the middle (Watertown, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin Rapids, Necedeh, and the Milwaukee suburbs). Hudson pretty much counts as a Twin Cities suburb so it also leans red.

It usually goes 2/3 Repub. Sensenbrenner's district. Sigh! This is where that hate rally was held--in the county seat.

Maybe this election will be a little different. Here's hoping.

We were duped -- really. I'm embarrassed to say that there was a time, not too long ago, when I thought that Sarah wasn't doing too bad a job as governor, although, of course, I didn't vote for her. It's really shocking the things we've learned in the last month and a half. Damn those Wasillans anyway for being so tight-lipped about their wacko mayor.

And double-damn Frank Murkowski for being such a piss-poor, lame ass, CORRUPT governor that ANYBODY would have looked good who came after him.

Thank you for being candid. I know we can count on Minnesota. I have been very negative since the Republican Convention when the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department was allowed to run out of control using Homeland Security Funds. I'm hoping that if Norm Coleman is defeated....the Nazi's in St. Paul (Ramsey County) will have a wooden stake in their heart.

These freaks must have been carted in from Michelle Bachmann's district of Nutville, Minnesota.

23. Agreed. Democratically inclined people outnumber the nut jobs
Two weeks ago I was driving around Lakeville and saw my very first McCain/Pailin yard signs. All I see where I live are Obama/Biden signs. I also saw a handmade one at the end of a farm driveway near Hastings that said "McCane 2008".

25. I married an 4th generation Lakeville, Minnesotan - he apologizes too
He - and his family - were also shocked and embarrassed by the statements made at the Palin gathering in Lakeville. Like Grannylib stated, this is NOT representative of the wonderful, kind, caring and intelligent people who I've met in Minnesota, and in Lakeville.

29. Milwaukee, Madison and the Kickapoo River Valley area.
That's in the SE of the state, the Spring Green area. Lots of artists and the like drifted out there from Madison years ago. Plus the area has two branches of the UW in Platteville and LaCrosse. Eau Claire--isn't it another blue spot? My daughter got her undergrad degree there and we've visited many times.

The Upper Midwest are among the few states where Dems have not abandoned all rural areas in favor of an "urban only" (or more accurately "inner suburban white upper middle class" mentality that the party is only now (and possibly never if it intends to rule upcoming Depression on a neoliberal track) recovering from.

I know you are both an intelligent, and smart person, who are on the Right track... And I know that this racist, ignorant hatefully persons are not representative for the rest of the state of Minnesota.. They are more Representative for THEIR PARTY, The Republican Party or the GOP as they are former known (as I have understand it).

I hope Obama in the end would be the next president.. Because I serious fear that if McCain/Palin will be the next president, it would start a chain of event no one can control. And it can end in WW3.. And with the fact that most of the world are pretty pissed off, when it come to how US have behaviored the last 8 year... Well I would fear the worst...
