Is this the right time to take down the entire R party and the conservative ideology?
Not just Mc/P but their entire party and the failed ideology that is its framework? If not now, then when?

1. Absolutely.
This experiment in conservative and neo-conservative ideology has been a humongous failure.

3. Yes. They are going down.
When Obama pulls us out of this mess, the supply-siders will be discredited and the Republicans will need to find a new identity.

Just think about the past eight years.

8. By broadening the criticisms from Mc/P to the entire party and ideology
Showing a direct line between the conservative ideology and the economic meltdown, beginning with Reagan and deregulation.

6. Bush's greatest success
He'll be remembered as the one who destroyed the Republican party.

We should all be grateful.

7. That only works with the rational
The base they have created may get smaller, or be outnumbered, but they will go to the grave with their zealously held positions.

9. Agreed. The party of Reagan is done. Stick a fork in it
But I certainly don't want a one party government! We've seen how corrupt that can become in zero seconds.

10. Although revenge can be sweet...
I don't think a single-party monopoly would be good for the country (either party).
IMO, the best course of action would be to use the opportunity to restore fairness and accuracy in the media; openess and accountability in government and business; respectful civil discourse; and increased education in civics, history, geography, ethics, and ethnology. I would welcome a vibrant GOP minus the greed, secrecy, fear-mongering, and demagogery.

14. yes
If the (R) party was gone, the (I) party would replace it. Although, in the long-term, we should amend the Constitution to include an entirely new Article, dealing with political parties. Section 1 would restrict the amount of Legislative seats political parties can gain to 1/10th of the House and Senate.
