Dow going down again...
Not looking good. It's down 300 again and on a steep slope.

4. Am I seeing this right?

I just got in and it looks like the Dow recovered about 600 points into barely positive while Obama spoke. Did the timing coincide?

6. Yes - the timing did coincide. There were some status reports here on DU.
Up when Obama was speaking, down when Bush spoke.

2. Well, Stupid opened his piehole, didn't he?
That's always good for a market dive.

Seriously, this is a panic. Expect it to continue for a while.

Remember, it's just numbers. You own the same stuff this week as you did last week.

3. Bush opens his pie hole and confidence evaporates
Un*fucking*believable.

Every time that moron blathers on about the stock market, it tanks.

George W. Bush, the inverse Midas. Everything he touches turns to shit.

7. He basically said we're screwed in his speech.
Everyone knows that nothing can be done to fix this. All he did was come out to confirm it. Blah blah blah.

Especially when he said, "we have the right strategy". That really sent everyone over the edge.

Right strategy. Like in Iraq. Sure.

Next they'll tell us to put plastic on our windows again and buy duct tape.....

5. We don't need another black Friday
although it is a great Steely Dan song. I have been working on learning it this morning just in case.

When Black Friday comes
I'll stand down by the door
And catch the grey men when they
Dive from the fourteenth floor
When Black Friday comes
I'll collect everything I'm owed
And before my friends find out
I'll be on the road
When Black Friday falls you know it's got to be
Don't let it fall on me
