New Financial Lexicon
The new financial lexicon (you didn't necessarily read this here first)

OVERSOLD We all couldn't wait to get out of this stock but hope
you'll buy it so we can short it all over again.

CAPITALISM Socialism for rich people.

BANK The place where poor people deposit their hard-earned money so
rich people can have access to it.

DEREGULATION A way of rewriting the rules of finance so that rich
people can realise larger and larger profits.

GLOBALISATION Deregulation on a global scale.

DERIVATIVES A financial instrument very much like an alchemist's
stone that is used to turn your money into mine.

CDO Sometimes called "financial weapons of mass destruction", these
will only be understood after years of research at the new CERN
supercollider.

CHINESE WALL An ethical code rigorously observed by financial houses
wherein the research and analysis side of the firm maintains radio
silence from the buy side traders in order to avoid any hint of
conflict of interest. This is in force until the cocktail hour when
they regale one another with tales of how one side has screwed the
other into buying and/or selling trash.

VENTURE CAPITALIST Undertaker for businesses.

RETIREMENT - what happens when you die.
