Video: Palin Answers A Heckler In Florida
Vice Presidential candidate and Governor Sarah Palin was heckled at a recent campaign stop in Estero, Florida. It's hard to tell what the man was yelling, but it was overshadowing Palin's speech and she turned to address the heckler directly.

"You know, bless your heart, sir," Palin said. "My son is over in Iraq fighting for your right to protest right now."

1. What a pantload she is.
:puke: And no he isn't, he is protecting Halliburton/bu$hco interests. Just as the rest of the troops are.

2. That really irks me
Our country hasn't fought for our domestic freedom since the civil war.

5. WWII....do remember there were German U Boats off the coast of NY
And the "Final Solution" had plans for all of America's Jews

But other than the Civil War and WWII, you're right

6. I didn't know about the U boat thing
The reason why I left WWII was because the only battle fought on american soil was in Alaska(Hawaii was bombed) so I didn't consider our domestic freedoms were in immediate danger because most of the war was on European soil but you're right. WWII was the last time considering that if we didn't stop Germany then our freedoms would've been in danger.

9. The interesting thing about WWII is that Japan thought Germany would end after taking England
But Germany had plans further than that...

He was going to take America via Argentina and Chile (which were pretty much sympathetic to the Axis) and then go after the Japanese Empire - erasing the world of all non-Aryans.

7. Glenn Greenwald responded to this also...
From: Salon

Listening to a Sarah Palin rally is like visiting a museum exhibit of every empty, trite, manipulative right-wing political slogan from the last three decades. Today, an anti-war heckler interrupted her speech in Florida and this is how she responded, to cheers from right-wing throngs both at the rally and around the nation:

"Bless your heart sir, my son is in Iraq fighting for your right to protest."

Right, because if Saddam Hussein had remained in power in Iraq -- or if we were no longer occupying the country -- then the U.S. would have been invaded by the Iraqi Army by now and we'd be living under the tyrannical rule of Ace of Clubs Qusay and Ace of Hearts Uday (and Five of Hearts Dr. Germ and cardless Mrs. Anthrax) and they would have abolished our First Amendment rights of speech and assembly. So that's exactly what the U.S. military is doing in Iraq: "fighting for our right to protest." And those who oppose that war, therefore, are unwilling to Fight for Our Freedoms. And Freedom is on the March.

That may be the motive driving many, perhaps most, citizens who join the military. But even under the most romanticized vision, whatever it is that we're doing in Iraq, fighting for our "right to protest" quite plainly isn't it.

Every empty, trite, manipulative right-wing political slogan from the last three decades. Bam.

"Bless your heart sir." When she says shit like that in her syrupy Fargo whine I just want to vomit. :puke:

Freedom is on the March indeed.

12. Her son is over there because NOT ENOUGH of us protested - and weren't listened to.
We've SURRENDERED our democratic sovereignty over our own country.
