New video of 'Obama Youth' marching in military uniforms causes stir
Watch the video:

A video called "Obama Youth - Junior Fraternity Regiment" is a hit on YouTube, but reportedly has caused the suspension of a middle school teacher in Kansas City, Mo.

The video, showing children in military uniforms addressing "President Obama" and chanting his "yes, we can" campaign line, has been viewed more than half a million times.

Joyce McGautha, head of the Urban Community Leadership Academy, was quoted by Fox News saying, "People are upset that possibly taxpayer money is being used to support one particular candidate."

5. It isn't children supporting Obama that bothers me on this one
that is a good thing. The marching in uniforms, however, is a bit unsettling. The "Junior Fraternity Regiment?"

9. Truth: Bush brings home CCMRF Army unit to be used against Americans.
The dirty little Republican liars are working overtime to hide the truth of what they really are. Fascist pigs= Republicans. Not DEMOCRATS!

There's an update regarding the video with the African American teens shown on YouTube in the video below. This morning, I received a message from a friend named Dan who gave me the address of the school where this video was filmed. This is the name:

URBAN COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
1524 PASEO BLVD
18th & Vine District, Kansas City, MO
Educational Organization

I called and spoke to Bernard, who said he was the assistant Dean. He was very gentlemanly and when I voiced my concerns about the video, he told me that this was taken at the school last year when Obama was beginning his campaign. He assured me that they stopped this "regiment" because they felt the person who was organizing it was pushing his political agenda.

Duh.

He assured me that he didn't know it was on YouTube. I gave him the link to where to go for this video and when he found it he said, "Oh this is not good. I had no idea" I told him I'd take his word for it. He then asked me, nicely, "what's the main concern? Because I want to understand where you're coming from so that I can figure out how to handle this."

Nicely, I told him that the video looked militant. I told him about the Colburn School video and how it resembles propaganda films from Communist dictatorships. I told him that the US military is frowned upon for going to high schools trying to recruit potential grads into joining their ranks. Why shouldn't we frown upon those who come to a school like yours to encourage kids to worship a politician? One who is not even a president.

I also said that if this was done to make kids feel better about themselves, why do it in the name of Obama? Why not encourage kids to believe in the power of themselves?

He assured me that he would get to the bottom of the situation, thanked me for my call and we hung up.

We in America and Around the World should not idolize our politicians.

Jesus Christ is Lord/Messiah/Savior; not Barack Obama or John Mccain.

That's all for now.

May God Bless You, and May God Bless America.

This is an old video that was addressed. I imagine someone saw the opportunity to save this and use it later for exploitation against the Obama campaign.

14. Well, this is going to get me flamed for sure...
If these youth were doing this for a candidate on the Republican side -- say John McCain -- we'd be up in arms about it. As an Obama supporter, I find this disturbing on several levels. Like it or not, folks, it does smack of the very sort of thing many hear despise -- a cult of personality around a candidate. I'm going to go out on a limb on this however, and posit that this "Obama Youth" movement is not sanctioned by the Obama campaign.

As to those of you refusing to watch this, I say do so. I can recall just last month a co-worker asked me my views on this and I had not heard anything about it, but since this co-worker is a fence-sitter -- someone I've been trying to rally to our side -- I dismissed it outright saying, "See, this is just another example of outright lies and distortion by the Republicans!" In truth, I knew nothing about this movement. I would suggest people watching this and arming up with information to FIGHT their disinformation.

Just a thought. Flame away.
