Poll: Biden wins debate, Palin exceeds expectations
(CNN) – A national poll of people who watched the vice presidential debate suggests that Democratic Sen. Joe Biden won but also hints that Republican Gov. Sarah Palin exceeded expectations.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey is not a measurement of the views of all Americans, since only people who watched the debate were questioned.

<snip>

Fifty-one percent of those polled thought Biden did the best job in Thursday night's debate, while 36 percent thought Palin did the best job.

But respondents said the folksy Palin was more likable, scoring 54 percent to Biden's 36 percent. :puke:

<snip>

But on the question of the candidates' qualifications to assume the presidency, 87 percent of the people polled said Biden is qualified while only 42 percent said Palin is qualified.

4. the guy who comes to deliver my oxygen is a really nice guy also.
I like him as a friend, but don't want him in charge of my government. I mean he might be okay, but likability does not decide it.

6. You know what? George W. Bush was more likable compared to Gore. He's now one of the most unpopular.
How was that experiment in electing a president you want to drink beer with working out for you, America? Not too fucking well!!!

8. I'll agree with that.
I want my president smarter than I am. More serious about issues than I tend to be. And someone that I don't have to hide my head in shame every time they open their mouths. With mccain/palin, I would not get any of these things.

I thought she was dreadfully transparent in her forced attempts at being "cute".

10. Someone in my house called her a b*tch.
Agreed with you that her cutsies were very forced and apparent and her smart aleckness was also very apparent. I didn't watch it, but I believe it.

11. The Fox channel cut to "The Simpsons", already in progress.
And Cletus the slack-jawed local was on, and had put lipstick and a wig on his pig.
