1. She answered it--narcissism--she believes she has no
flaws.

5. She didn't want to -she wanted to get her pre-programed talking points out there.
This will be reflected in how she governs-she won't follow the rules but will go full steam ahead on her own agenda. dangerous.

9. AMEN.
I wish Biden would have said that.

There were several times Biden could have shot out some snappy one-liners.

When Palin went on about, "well I'm glad to hear that Senator Biden also has a great love for Israel, yadda yadda..." Biden should have come back with, "Well, Sarah, I figured you knew that already since you had been listening to my speeches since the 2nd grade."

He could have gotten in a few playful jabs like that and not had people turn on him.

Oh well.

10. That's because, 'with all due respect',
she's not going to be boxed in by the media elite, including Ifill.

That's a new tactic (or is it strategy?), insult the moderator, don't answer any questions except with a quick dismissal, and then launch into your prepared talking points.

15. She said she would not answer the questions in the way the moderator or
Biden might want. :eyes: Not that she could actually answer the questions in an intelligent way, anyway.

16. ...since Achilles was a hero
I too reread the transcript and feel sure Gov. Palin's answer regarding her Achilles Heel reflects more than egotism or a stubborn adherence to talking points: I think she does not know the meaning of the phrase, as others have suggested, and there is sort of no excuse for that. High School juniors would be expected to know it for the SAT. Her answer shows, I think, that she intuitively took the question to be its opposite: "Tell us your really excellent qualities", etc., since: Achilles/Brad Pitt was, after all, a guy full of excellent qualities.

18. She Said What Her Handlers Wanted Her To Say...Codepseak
Since we're not living in that parallel universe, we don't understand it, but Grandma Barracuda said plenty to the flying monkeys and freepers to make them very happy.

This lady epitomizes the political culture the GOOP has created for the past generation...shy on facts or specifics and heavy on symbolism and buzzwords. I honestly believe this lady has no clue about the Supreme Court other than Roe...that's all she's heard about the court (and "activist" Judges)...or how her worldview is limited to the strawmen and red herrings of GOOP dogma. She oozes the arrogance and ignorance that worked like a charm for over a decade and got us this current regime...but she is "too polished"...to "on script"...and this phoniness shows right through.

21. I phrased it wrong
I meant any question that was asked.

For instance, during the think about deregulation, she started talking about tax plans. Both my wife and I were watching, and neither of us remember anyone saying anything about tax plans until she was asked to answer the question about deregulation. Likewise with something else when she started in on energy plans in response to something unrelated. And until the very end I didn't think she was going to answer her own question about what her Achilles Heel would be.
