1. Sanders/Kucinich '12... That's the ticket!
How great would that ticket be? Either way, either one pres., or vp. I would quit my job, and work for them full time!

he's a pragmatist. he's not a showboater. I like Dennis but he's absolutely a showboater.

3. if only the US were as left wing as Sweden or France or Spain, they'd have a serious chance of a win
A man can dream, though. A man can dream.

9. I dunno about that, in urban areas probably, but where I live likely not. (I live in Mississippi)

I generally don't agree politically with very many folks, and I'm speaking as a socialist myself, but that's the product of living in a part of the country where anything to the left of George Bush is considered too far left.

10. it is a pack of lies
Obviously, the right wing propagandists have successfully driven people into two warring camps.

But when the people are surveyed on political issues - true political issues of power and economics - without any clues to partisanship, on issue after issue 70% or more of the people support very left wing positions, along the lines of the New Deal and even farther to the left.

There is a segment of the population that is conservative, about 30%, and the reason why the right wing has so much power and support is because the Democrats are not actually representing, fighting for, or even permitting any discussion of those positions that the public already supports.

In fact, being a Democrat has come to mean working your ass off to make sure that the public will is thwarted, that the working people have no representation, and that no meaningful or truthful political discussions can happen, so that corporate and upper class interests can be satisfied and the moolah will keep flowing.
