Executive Privilage
Does anybody know the law on this? Like can Karl Rove or somebody else in the White House ACTUALLY claim executive privilage when testifying?

The people that work for the president have to be able to offer advice without the threat of congressional subpoena. It's always a matter of debate and law as to when it does and doesn't apply, as well as a constitutional debate.

3. It's VERY simple: if you're a democrat, there's NO executive privilege.
if you're a republican, executive privilege applies WHENEVER you say it does.

See 'Dick Cheney's energy papers' for all you need to know

5. so I guess you haven't been paying attention these past ten years, or so, then.
have you?

if you have, please summarize the times Clinton tried to use executive privilege to keep members of his administration from testifying before congress, and how many times he was ordered by the courts to either produce paperwork, or witnesses

then, do the same thing with the Bush administration

thank you

2. The president must claim the privilege on behalf of exec branch people.
I remember plenty about it from the Clinton era.
