Bailout Plan Redirected... (An Opinion Piece)
Many among the American populace are asking "Why should I bailout big business? Where is my bailout?"... and with what people paying for gas, heating oil and food, its a valid question.

Many see the bailout as a way to consolidate wealth so that big business can survive and the so called "fat cat"s on Wall Street may continue to live their opulent lifestyle.

I would argue that any bailout should start at bottom of the proverbial American apple tree. A tree that doesn't have healthy roots and a thick trunk cannot create the leaves that enjoy the sunlight...nor the rich crisp apples that hang from the branches.

Ironically big business has been lobbying to get as much money as they can funneled into their coffers. This act would be akin to the tree leaves catching and holding any and all rain-water... preventing it from reaching a parched root system. Eventually the roots will wither, the tree trunk will become weak and the whole tree will fall over either from any sudden wind gusts...or under its own weight.

This is the situation were in now. The American people are parched and begging for water... the top businesses on Wall Street are trying to hoard that water. A tree divided cannot stand... the economy will fall if the whole of the economy is not considered as opposed to just the leaves and fruit.

I sent this comment to my Senator Norm Dicks...
apparently he voted for the bailout.
