Media Matters: Norah O'Donnell aired cropped "John is right" clips,

Summary: On MSNBC, Norah O'Donnell aired a montage of what she described as "the multiple times that Barack Obama said 'John is right' " during the first presidential debate. Following the montage, O'Donnell commented, "I thought this was a debate." In fact, in nearly all instances, Obama was actually criticizing McCain after first noting a point of agreement on the topic Obama was discussing.

1. When I saw Barack say that repeatedly, I thought it would hurt him.

this Democrats must take the high road, we must show people "we are better than that" attitude hurts us terribly. I think it portrays us as weak. Certainly, it is important to take the high road for most issues, but not when the other side is playing dirty in an election. I know Obama can't come across as an angry black man cause he'll scare all the white people, but to agree with your opponent repeatedly? I have to say that if I was one of those undecided votes, I would be thinking, well if McCain is so right, then why shouldn't I vote for the guy? What am I missing?

2. The polls indicate just the opposite
Obama won the undecided voters overwhelmingly. People are looking for the end of partisanship.

3. He was demonstrating the ability to hold more than one thought in his head at once

Being able to see where an opponent may have something right is a precious commodity for a leader. He can take the best things from several different viewpoints and arrive at a well-thought out conclusion.
He demonstrated great maturity and leadership IMHO.

4. The dumbed down approach ..
to politics is advocated by so many. Perhaps it is what we are used to. You would think we wanted to see a dog fight rather than a Presidential Debate. Fortunately it appears that many of us Americans are not nearly as stupid as some people would have us believe.
