I saw a bumpersticker suggesting MLK would vote for McCain
It showed a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. and said "Martin Luther King was a REPUBLICAN" next to a McCain sticker.

Do people really think he would have voted for McCain? I mean, I can believe the Republican thing since the Democratic party had some serious issues with racism in the south at one time in history. But that isn't relevant to today's Democratic party. Does the person driving that vehicle really believe that MLK would vote for McCain today? I find it hard to believe anyone would think that. And not because Obama is black, but because of the civil rights movement and which party is currently on which side of that issue. He was a civil rights leader! How could he vote for a party that has worked so hard to violate so many people's civil rights?

This kind of thing makes me frustrated.

2. Was JMcC at Coretta's funeral? Don't think so. MLK would have been 100% opposed to the Iraq war.
That would be a non-starter.

3. If the sentencing phase of McCain's war crimes trial was considering the death penalty,
then, yes, MLK would vote for John McCain. :eyes:

5. It's a popular wing-nut theory......
that if MLK were alive today, he would be conservative. :eyes:

At the end of his life MLK was shifting his focus toward ending poverty and ending the Vietnam war. Of course, wingnuts conveniently ignore that.

6. What idiocy would lead to that idea other than wishful thinking?

7. I don't really know, and haven't made much of an effort to find out....
Don't forget, these are the same people who compare Al Gore's attempt to get action on global warning to the Nazi's rise to power (Glen Beck).
