There was a Republican behind me at Subway today -- McCain, Coleman and NRA bumper stickers on his car -- and after I ordered, he had the following exchange with the sandwich maker, which I swear to God I am not making up:

"What kind of bread would you like?"

"Wheat."

"Six inch or foot long?"

"Tuna."

"Six inch or foot long?"

"American cheese."

"Six inch or foot long?"

"Untoasted."

"Okay." *starts preparing a six-inch*

"Foot long."


You can probably draw your own conclusions.
