2. As the oldest gun manufacturer in the world,
Beretta makes rifles, shotguns, pistols, and revolvers. The company is well known for its high-end stuff.

4. He was showing a clip of Biden...
telling a crowd that they'd hear that Barack Obama wants to take their shotguns. Then he said he wasn't going to give up his Beretta and Jon snidely (and humorously) said that Beretta only made handguns.

16. I love Jon and TDS, but sometimes they go Fox News on us:
Fair and Balanced.

Which means, when one party is a bunch of idiot douchebags and the other party is a bunch of pretty decent intelligent folks trying to govern, that you have pull shit out of your ass to criticize the good guys sometimes. Jon does that on occasion. He should stop.

of when two nerds get in a heated argument over which phaser prop Kirk used in which episode of Star Trek.

The heck with that! It's like the replies in your thread said. TDS really has to stretch to get something on the Dems and that one backfired.

sadly there are a lot of losers out there
who think they have to "defend" their guy, Jon, Obama, whomever, against any thing they do not understand (the losers that is) and will down-rate anything that goes over their pointy heads. I have seen a lot of that on dkampf and MyDumDum's hate sites. they think they are the only ones who should have a say in anything. pretty pathetic really. jon mis-spoke and i am sure one it comes to his attention he will address it.

17. Right. Just as many are mad at Bill Clinton who says that McCain is his friend
that they worked together, that he understands Palin's attractiveness to many small town voters, yet is ready to go and campaign for Obama because this is the right course for the country. Same with Hillary who said, during her campaign that McCain, with his military experience, was qualified to be a Commander in Chief but, again, this is not the only requirement, as we've seen with Kerry.

No, they want them to put tunnel vision glasses and just parade the party line. And, as Bill clearly explained, trashing the opponent on a personal level is not a way to win elections, especially if one wants to attract Independent and moderates. And certainly being an attack dog is not a role for a former president who does want to preserve his standing in the world.

22. nope not even in the same ballpark
if you think that you have to hate and despise your opponents you, like so many others on so-called "progressive" blogs, are the problem. Point out issues you disagree on, argue with them, debate themall of that is good stuff. Treating someone as less then human just for not sharing each and every one of your opinions is just the kind of thinking the repukes do and serves nothing except your ego. grow-the-fuck-up.

15. Don't turn around...
...der kommissar's in town.

This board has become a rather bleak place in the last half-year: nothing short of absolute allegiance to those deemed "good" is tolerable to many.

Many other long-time participants who are mostly just observers these days will agree. This is one of those peak times on this board, but the peer pressure and group tyranny is much worse this time around than it was in previous times of stress.

19. I know. The mirror image of the freepers
and of Bush "you are either with us or against us." Sadly, this is how we used to describe the Republicans, always fall in step, their candidates always get the enthusiasm and support of 90% of the party members while we go in any directions. But not on DU. If you try to deviate from the DU orthodoxy you are a troll, or deserve a pizza, etc.

Funny that it takes a "fake" news show to point out some of the political absurdity going on.

9. Wow... this is big! Has the president been notified?
A comedian made a mistake. He's a comedian, get over it. Palin doesn't know what the Bush doctrine is. Question for you, which is more important?

14. Hey I was just pointing it out...
Is it earth shattering? No. I think it's funny that it was the only thing that they had on Biden was that non-gaffe. Jon doesn't make very many factual mistakes.

Sorry I wasted your time. Please feel free not to read my posts if they offend you.

11. Jon blew it on that one IMO
Biden said he had two and they would not get his Beretta. He started talking about his shotgun and then switched to his Beretta. Jon jumped to conclusion and was wrong. It happens. He is normally right spot on though.
