I called my Congressman & Senator Re. Bail-out

Olver & John Kerry.

Olver as usual, is just waiting to see what will happen and not proactively speaking out. He, of course, will vote the right way, he always does. However, I told them that this is a time to actually represent the constituents and act proactively. They told me the bill wouldn't be released until Wednesday at the soonest, and then, he would take a position.

I said he needs to speak out NOW. And, say, NO, we will not hand the Bush croonies ANY control of any financial rescue package, and in fact, he should demand investigation into how this got so bad under their watch, AND bring criminal charges if so warranted. Dennis Kucinich didn't wait. He had his own package and plan ready a couple days ago.

I called Sen. Kerry's office as well. The staff indicated Kerry was in the process of putting his statement up about the crisis. Kerry, as Olver, is waiting for the package to come to the table. I stated again, we need LEADERSHIP, now. And, we need our representatives screaming from the rafters that this is not going to happen on ANY, repeat ANY of the criminals terms, and excuse my french, but SCREW bipartisanship - this is a financial war waged against the people and any politician who doesn't fight it is a accessory to the crime

The staff member says Kerry is pretty much oppossed to the bill as written and he will be coming out soon.

I didn't call Ted Kennedy's office. I already know he will do the right thing. He is ill, and he has his own battle to fight right now. I am waiting for his response.

I wrote a LTTE, and I am prepared to drive to Washington and take my daughter out of school to shut down Washington, if the dems don't fight.

1. I called Cornyn's office
& was shockingly (for me) polite. Only spoke w/an office aide who took my name & zip code & said he'd give my message to the Senator. Something tells me he's :scared: of his Dem challenger (Noriega  ) so is trying to get an idea of where the wind is blowing in Texas.....

2. I heard that Kennedy will be issuing a statement on it later today
He is doing some Senate-related work from home. I heard that he is also meeting with the president of Chile today at his home on the Cape. Kennedy may be down, but he's far from out.
