1. Children are not adults
If they had the full right to free speech, they would tell their teachers to 'fuck off' more than they do now.

...seem prudent to me, however eroded they may have been in Hazelwood, Bethel, etc.

Good site at UMo Kansas City.

4. Kids? Adults in a classroom don't have full free speech rights.
I've thrown people out of my class because they wouldn't shut up. Whether a minor or an adult, a person is in a classroom to learn the material taught in that classroom, not to debate or debunk it.

In an educational environment with minors, the standard is simple. Students have free speech right up to the point where that speech disrupts the educational environment or undermines the operation of the school.

5. Red Herring,
Basically, rights are truly inalienable...But, exercising those rights is never without consequence. Schools have a responsibility to ensure a proper learning environment and thus have the need to set and enforce rules of conduct. Just as adults have the right to tell the boss to fuck off, kids have the right to express themselves innappropriately--just no guarantee to be sheilded from the results.
