Uneducated white women a heartbeat away from voting for assholes!
The Women, Parts I & II: The most striking gap isn't between men and women, it's between white women with a college degree and those without.

Those who are married and have a college degree give Obama a very slight lead, 45 percent to 44 percent, while those without a degree overwhelmingly support McCain, 57 percent to 31 percent. Among white men, the difference is negligible. McCain is getting 56 percent among white men with a degree and 58 percent from white men without.

Oh wait - none of that latter part is actually true. You would think that makes the choice a lot easier for white folks. Somehow it doesn't.

4. Yes, unfortunately a high school diploma sadly only means attendance these days
It is not the benchmark of an educated person.

6. "these days" - but this article is more than likely talking about women who graduated long
before "these days."

3. "uneducated voters"
never mind. I'm not going to say anything for fear of being labeled an elitist.

For what it's worth, I think one can be well-educated and informed without any kind of degree, but it is sort of telling looking at the splits, isn't it? Especially the 16 point McCain lead among uneducated independents.

8. The single vs. married gap is bigger than the college vs. non college gap

This was before Palin though, I don't know what Palin did to women's support, but there are theories it might polarize the marriage gap further and drive more single women into the dem party. But back in August married women preferred McCain by 4 points. Unmarried women preferred Obama by 27 points.

At 26 percent of the voting-age population, single women are also the biggest single eligible voter demographic. And according to a survey by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, they are the most dependably progressive voters in the electorate. In the last two elections, unmarried women supported Democrats with 62 percent of their vote in 2004 and 65 percent in 2006.

10. Are they defining "single" as "unmarried" or as "without a S.O."?

11. I believe just as unmarried
People in long term unmarried relationships are still considered single by those polls as far as I know.

12. Elephant in the room: Education is a proxy for CLASS.
With Dems and Repubs scrambling equally to bail out Wall Street, it's difficult to make a case to these voters based on contrasting economic policy.
