Can I PLEASE have some DU Help on this Southern Ohio Political Blog (RE: Financial Crisis)
WE OHIOANS DIDN'T ASK FOR IT, BUT AGAIN WE ARE BEING TOLD THAT THE FATE OF THE ELECTION (AND THE WORLD) RESTS ON THE VOTE IN OHIO. SEVERAL OF US DUers HAVE JOINED FORCES IN COMBATING THE RW TALKING POINTS DISHED OUT BY GOP REGULAR MISINFORMERS. PLEASE CONSIDER POSTING TO THIS CINCINNATI (SOUTHERN-READ RED) POLITICAL BLOG AND HELP DEBUNK THEIR MISINFORMATION. Also, please recommend positive comments.

Portman slightly off-message

Posted by HowardWilkinson at 9/22/2008 8:17 AM EDT
Former congressman Rob Portman may have been passed over for the number two spot by John McCain, but he has been cheerfully performing his duties as a surrogate for the McCain campaign, mainly by popping up on the cable news talking-head shows and toeing the party line.

Sunday, though, on CNN's Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer, the Terrace Park Republican parted ways with his presidential candidate on a point that McCain has been making on the stump in recent days as he tries to jump out front on the Wall Street crisis.

McCain has been calling for the firing of Christopher Cox, the former California congressman whom President Bush made chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC chairman is appointed to a fixed term; and it's not entirely clear that a president could "fire" anyone from the position. But Portman, one of Cox's old House colleagues, made it clear on CNN that he doesn't think that is necessary. Cox, Portman said, has done "a decent job in a very tough situation, so I don't share the fact that Chris Cox ought to go," although he did say the SEC has been "lax" and "should have done more."

1. Here is an example of their illogic:
So anytime someone overextends themselves and borrows a ton of money and then refinances over and over to "pay" for their bad choices.

Those people need to "keep" their homes?

Obama is a joke.

Giving "the American Dream" to people that don't pay their bills is wrong.

There should be some benefit to living right, within a budget.

Maybe I should just sell my companies and quit paying my bills, and let Obama take care of me...

Like he does his brother...

And Biden is even worse. "patriotic" to pay taxes. While he preaches that "true" catholics think abortion is OK... All the while he has "given" $3,300 over the past 9 years...

They are both "takers"... Not givers.
