You need to destroy a building to build a new one in its place.
Our economic system has already collapsed, all that's happening now is the realization of the collapse. It's like someone playing a game of chess, pieces are pre-positioned and often only when it is absolutely clear that a player is in check, do they realize it.

The best explanation of it is the one I've offered before. Imagine the old familiar cartoon of Wile E. Coyote chasing Roadrunner off a cliff. It is only when he starts feeling around that he crashes to the ground. Over the past year, we've been feeling around for ground, now we realize that we're off the cliff.
