Defenders Of Wildlife Desperately Need Funds To Air Palin Wolf Aerial Slaughter Ad
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 05:35 PM by organic
The Defenders of Wildlife, who today came out in support of Obama/Biden, needs $100,000 to air television ads on Sarah Palin's support, advocacy and participation in the inhumane, aerial wolf slaughter. It reveals the true blood-lust nature of this very dangerous woman.

I believe this video was already posted here recently. But seeing it here is preaching to the choir. This brutality - which in no way, shape or form could possibly pass as "hunting" - must be seen by more people than those who populate DU. It must be seen by the people who turn their heads and hide their eyes when such subjects are even hinted at. These are the people who must have their nightly t.v. doses of reality programs interrupted with True Reality. Especially if they are McCain/Palin supporters, let this interrupt and jar their t.v. viewing with their children in the comfort of their living rooms and then have to explain to their kids why they want this woman to be our next Vice President. Or the next time they rent "Balto", let them envision and explain again to their kids how the animated wolf is any different from the real-life wolf being butchered from the air compliments of Mrs. Palin and the Good Ole Boys she claims to disavow.

In her recent Gibson inerview, when Palin was asked about gun possession, one of the words she used as justification was "ethical". As in: as long as guns are used ethically. How anyone in their right mind, with any semblance of a conscience, (which would describe Palin) could condone this aerial savagery as "ethical" is beyond the realm of my comprehension.

I also wonder how many who may already be aware of this inhumane practice and for some God-awful reason have no problem with it, are not aware, however, that she rewards these alleged "hunters" if they present the severed forelegs of the poor defenseless creatures, who are run to the ground, harassed by small planes and then repeatedly shot in their backs till they drop from exhaustion.

A minimum of $20 would be very helpful. $40 even better. I made my $40 via their 800# just this afternoon. I wish it could have been more. You'll find their plea and instructions as to how you can help here: http://www.defendersactionfund.org/
Thanks, organic

3. Appreciate you posting this, and welcome to DU.
I made a $40 contribution. Have supported DOW in the past and happy to do so once again. Interestingly, my National Wildlife Federation calendar features a beautiful wolf this month. Palin is a disaster, and her running mate is too. May they never get near the White House!

Bless you, glinda, d_b and class of 56 and all who respond w/support and a (hopefully) a contribution. Thanks, also for the welcome. I've been wanting to make my first post here for awhile, but realized I had to rack up some responses to other posts before being allowed the privilege. With all going on lately, it's not been that difficult reach the response requirements. I have mixed feelings about this subject matter being my first 'official' post. But, I'm just glad I was able to make it.

When I made my contribution, I asked how they were doing w/meeting their goal. The woman said, they've got a lot of positive feedback from their emailings, but more is needed for them to air in as many states as possible. I have no doubt this plea and this ad would appeal to the better human nature of animal lovers and non-hunters. But, as I said, I can't even fathom a legitimate hunter abiding this as 'sportsman/womanship'. It would be great if those who do hunt could be brought on board to get this message out. I think their support would carry even more weight, too.

8. I gave, and also renewed my membership.
It was expiring, and I wasn't sure I was going to renew (can't join everything; I'm stretched pretty thin. Already got 10 calendars for next year from animal and conservation organizations). But that did it. Good for them.

9. I give $10 a month
Have been for several years now. I'm not going to lie, I'm a greedy bastard, but even I give to DoW and any other group doing SOMETHING to stop this disgusting shit. If I ever get filthy rich, I'd give far more. I have no remorse for those who participate in this flatout bloodlust, and never will. I wish them nothing but an eternity in hell.
