"Our citizens need to be prepared with food, water, and ammo ....."
So intoned congressman John Culberson (R-TX7) in an interview on MSNBC.

3. Didn't the bu$h maladministration seize gun in NO? I swear I read accounts on the
internets from people who had their guns seized, in fact I know I did. And some of them were waiting weeks or more to recover their guns from the government.

4. I'd say that is a good idea in general
Whether for fear of attacks, natural disaster's, etc and so on - keeping enough around to be self sufficient for a stretch is not a bad idea. Especially with things like ammo which ya can't grow :)

6. That's One of the Nice Things About a Bow and Arrows
Arrows are good for more than one shot, usually, and you can make your own if you have to.

10. I think if people choose to stay in a hurricane, they certainly should not expect help for a while.
Even with a mandatory evacuation, I don't see how you can get everyone to leave. But I don't think police and fire/rescue need to endanger their own lives rescuing anyone foolish enough to stay. Not until the storm has passed at least.
