Okay, what is the gas price by you?
I'm starting to read various comments on IKE posts about gas going up.

I've been in the office all day so I don't know what the price is here in Austin.

But I've heard that North Carolina, Michigan and Florida all have gas now at 5+ bucks a gallon.

What says you?

40. I've seen it for anywhere from $3.79 - $4.26
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 04:01 PM by tpsbmam
But that was when I headed home at about 1 p.m. And yep, two stations on my way home were out of gas -- bet at least one more of the small stations on Rte. 74 headed toward me are out now based on the lines. One of them, a Citgo, was rationing.

4. NE Tennessee - $5.49 in places, $4.59+ is common - if the stations even have gas
It's a crisis here on the ground - the suppliers are saying they may not be able to get gas back out to resupply all of the stations until sometime next week.

Johnson City specifically - most gas stations in the Tri-Cities were completely dry at 6:30 this evening. Not sure about if they are back online, but the prices are continuing to rise $459 and up - one had it at $5.79 according to local radio.

Slightly less in higher competion areas, slightly more the deeper into the 'burbs you get.

Price appears to be stable at the moment.

In Punta Gorda... gas went from 3.55 to 3.95 in one hour. Plastic bags over the handles at many stations. Oil closed today at 100.76.. lowest in a long time. Is this what they mean by "Drill-Baby-Drill"? And I didn't even get kissed first... WTF?

30. Oklahoma City. Local Shell station was $3.31 last night
3.41 this morning. My wife and I went out to lunch, and it was up again to $3.47 when we returned.

I bought some gas at a nearby 7-Eleven at 3.29 yesterday. Today I filled up there at $3.39. I've seen some places as high as $3.65 today, which is still relatively low, but I'm sure that's only the beginning.

One place is $5.95. Plenty of places closed here. I knew there was trouble this morning when one gas station that can't sell gas above $3.99 a gallon put up its price to the maximum, sold out and closed up shop.

57. The Governor just held a press conference...
she'll be prosecuting all of the gougers...apparently a few are trying to pull the same crap they pulled after 9/11.

What makes me angry is the people flocking to the gas stations over unfounded rumors (hello, we've seen this scenario before) potentially CAUSING a gas crisis. I've seen several accidents caused by people trying to get into stations ahead of others...had to have that last drop of gas at 3.95 a gallon, and now they don't have a working vehicle.
