3. AOL has always skewed right wingnut - their demographic is old, white, conservative.
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 02:13 PM by ClarkUSA

6. Well, I'm old and white but definitely NOT conservative.
I got my AOL account years ago when dial up was my only option. I didn't want to change my email address so I kept my aol account after I got DSL. It was just a matter of convenience to me. Honestly, some people get all worked up over a stupid place to park your email address. There's gotta be others just like me.

Big whoop.

14. Well, obviously it's not 100% conservative (no place is) -- but it's a large majority.
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 03:22 PM by ClarkUSA
Compared to, say, Yahoo! or MSNBC.

22. And? So what?
I participate in aol polls because I feel like I'm holding up our side. In reality of course, these online polls are meaningless except in making us feel like we should make our voices heard. Now that I'm pretty much retired I can spare the extra 30 seconds or so to click a poll or two...

on aol you get 7 names you can vote on each name then clear cookies and do it again...The straw poll with the map for the last 3 elections has the map 100% red.....YA OK...I believe that...with any luck they will stay in there basement and keep working the straw polls while the rest of us are out voting...lol

18. Will you stop? I'm living proof that not all of aol is RW.
Hubby and I are as liberal as they come. We live in New Haven, CT, home of Yale and one of the most liberal cities in the US.

You are wrong. We are on aol only because we started out that way long ago when dial up was our only alternative. We kept our original aol email addresses because it was more convenient.

Is that such a big deal to you? What is your problem?

21. Same here
I started with AOL when dial up was my only option. I kept when I moved to DSL because my family and friends had the AOL email address and I didn't want to change and put them through the hassle of learning a new Email address.
