BBC exclusive footage of 101st Airborne in Iraq (this is a must see!)
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 01:38 PM by Apollo11
This is a very powerful video that shows the life and death of US soldiers in Iraq during the summer of 2008. It is raw and unfiltered. (WARNING: curse words are audible)

The report was first shown in the UK on BBC2 last night (10/9)

Now they have made the full 17 minute report available on the Newsnight website.

Here's the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/7609592.stm

The report will also be shown on the weekly "Best of Newsnight" on BBC America.

You can see it on Friday 9/12 at 6pm or 10pm Eastern. Or Sunday 9/14 at 8am Eastern.

The BBC America website has a shorter trailer for the same report from Iraq.

See: http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/300/thisweek.jsp

The above is the latest in a series of photo and video reports made by Sean Smith.

You can find them on the website of The Guardian (England's original liberal newspaper):

Here's the homepage: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/series/seansmithiraq

Here is another video that was made by Sean Smith back in October 2006: http://www.guardian.co.uk/video/page/0,,1927660,00.html

The same video is up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22pfqQRL7mQ

I guess if you search around and use google you can find a whole bunch of videos ...

It's a good way for all of us to remember the US troops in harms way on 9/11.

Please keep this kicked and rec'd for your fellow DUers! :patriot:

7. I don't cry often or easily, but this one nearly had me weeping... What a terrible tragedy for
everyone. For the Iraqis, for our people, for the world.

Because this preemptive warfare of Bush's has loosed the evil geni and there will be no putting it back until untold and irrepairable damage has destroyed more than we could ever afford.

It has already done that and more will come from other predatory nations. Other countries have begun the same sort of tactics, like dominos.

14. I never look at that
I mostly head straight for the Presidential forum or the Political videos forum.

But first I have a look at what links are on the DU homepage.

If you have time later - check out tonight's edition of Newsnight online.

They are focusing on the legacy of Bush-Cheney 7 years after 9/11.

It includes an interview with David Petraeus - plus a panel discussion.

I guess it will be online from around 6.30pm Eastern.
