Our 3 greatest allies in this election: Mark Warner and the Udall Cousins.
These are 3 senatorial candidates in states that voted for Bush in 2004. All 3 of these candidates are doing amazingly well in their polls for US Senate in their respective states: Mark Warner in Virginia, Tom Udall in New Mexico and Mark Udall in Colorado.

All 3 states voted for Bush in 2004 but right now all 3 states are a toss-up in 2008 with Obama either head or statistically tied with McCain for each of these states.

It would be nice if we could pick up all 3 but if we can get 2 of these we have a good chance of winning in 2008, not just the White House but a 3 seat senate pickup too!

1. Great point
You have logic and reasonableness on your side. The rest is just ground noise and static :)

3. We'll pick up more than 3 Senate seats
although beyond NM and VA, it's hard to say which ones. Shaheen is running a great campaign and excellent ads against Sununu in NH. Udall of CO is doing well. So is Merkle (sp?) in OR and Begich in AK. Then there's ME, NC, KY and MN- all possible pickups.

5. NH went Kerry in 2004 and Sheehan should help us keep it blue
Some of those other states are going to be difficult wins for both the senator and Obama but they are already red states like Alaska, Kentucky, and North Carolina.

Maine tends to always vote blue for president even if a popular republican is running on the ticket.

Minnesota will stay blue even if Franken is going to have a tough time with his race.
