He can be pretty crafty that way when he wants to be.

11. As much as I'd like to go with that, I've never seen any evidence
to suggest it.

This guy feels to me like a media parsonality and we know how "honorable" those people are.

I like him as seen in "The War Room."

Or, that's my take, anyway.

34. Carville worked on the Clinton campaigns
he hasn't worked on any domestic campaigns since. He has worked on several (winning) foreign campaigns since then, though.

He also worked on several (winning) campaigns before Clinton.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Carville

He knows how to win elections.

It's foolish to, out of hand, disregard what he has to say, IMO.

7. Actually, I think he's right.
Jeb would please both the neocons and the religious right, something that few of the other candidates are capable of. The fact that he'd be a dead man in the eyes of anybody outside the party would matter little.

17. What is the big deal about saying he would unify REPUBLICANS?
It is hardly like he is advocating that he be elected POTUS.
It's like saying that Hitler was the man the Nazi Party was able to rally around. Hardly makes you a Nazi symp by saying that.

Yes, the analogy between Bushies/Hitler and GOP/Nazis was intentional

26. maybe he meant he could unify the REMAINING republicans
And maybe he's right about that.

Too many Republicans don't like McCain any more, and Guiliani will go down in flames (that the NY firefighters who hate him won't lift a finger to put out). I don't know whether Romney will pick up their leftovers... perhaps.

But the powers that be in the party (not in the evangelical leadership, who seem to have had enough of Bushes) still seem to be loyal to the Bush family, and they're the ones who'll decide on the nominee.

So although a successful run by anybody whose last name is Bush seems pretty unlikely, he could still be the nominee, through attrition and blind loyalty.

27. I don't know what to think or feel with his idiot statement.
I guess it's just a choice now, between laughing my ass off until the cows come home, or projectile vomiting across the room.

Either way, it is stunning that anyone takes this guy seriously, and I can just imagine the drool running off the lips of the very bottom feeders of the republican base. Some people are just downright mentally gone.

31. `Don't ever underestimate the bush machine.....
As evil as they are, as out of touch as they are, as stupid as they may appear to be, the SOB's win elections by doing whatever it takes. Jeb is the right-wings wet dream. Before he raises a dime or mounts a media campaign he has the same 30% that still support his idiot brother. Every wack job fundie will line up to give time, energy and money to get him elected. Don't forget that over 50,000,000 people voted for his brother after 4 years of being lied to and manipulated by the wing-nuts. Think about it. A bush, with his locked in base, against a woman or a black man! I'm sorry, I am afraid of that. The repugs are in a bit of disarray right now but don't count them out, especially when it comes to maintaining power. They will pray upon every stereotype against Clinton or Obama and the redneck, fundamentalist, repug nation will respond. I hope to God that I'm wrong but these evil bastards scare me big time.
