I'm a working class, middle class, mom. Other than motherhood, there isn't much I have in common
with that woman. I don't get what McCain was thinking. He can't win this one with just the base. This seems so obvious to me. Our base is bigger.

That is all.

1. And I don't even have that in common with that woman.
My thoughts are that McCain figures that Palin helped secure his base--the creationist, anti-choice fundies. Not that they would have voted D, but I think there was a fear in McCain's camp that they would stay home. I'm wondering if he thinks that now he can return to that "maverick" image that made him attractive to independents, leaving Palin to be the fundie anchor.

2. I'm also in that demographics - & Palin is a pit bull that attacks people who don't agree with her.
She does not seem to be an honorable person, and her moral compass seems broken.

3. So I'm a mother, I have values, I work full time...THAT qualifies me for VP?

5. I know, can you believe it?
Furthermore, if someone came to me, a working class, single mom, and told me they wanted me to be Vice President, first I'd laugh my ass off, then I'd ask them what the REAL story was and then I'd be pissed off, because it would be obvious that they had chosen me as a political tool and not because any of them actually thought I could do the job. Because I'd know for a fact that I was not qualified to do that job.

So why does Miss Congeniality say "Yes, you betcha, I'd be happy to go be the Vice President"? Because she is too arrogant to realize that she is unqualified. If it were not for the almost certain horrific consequences, I'd love to see her crash and burn, which she would most absolutely do.

7. I've met women like this, they usually say and do things that alienate people.
The whole thing would be laughable...if it weren't so infuriating.

4. Me too. She offers us NOTHING. From what I've read, she sounds like a real
JERK. She plays up her motherhood, but whose REALLY raising that baby? Not her, she's busy campaigning.
Seems like he's a pro-life accessory. She's really milking it too. Saw her and the baby on all the magazines today,
People, Us, etc. I have yet to see her with him in footage from the campaign trail.

6. Sure, Palin has given birth...
But I would argue that the woman doesn't really raise her kids, day to day. Her husband isn't really either.
McCain was completely insane to choose her and he's even more insane to be pissed off that people are looking deeply into her background. He's threatening people with lawsuits because they're telling her story. There's something there or they wouldn't be so TWITCHY.
