Westmoreland calls Obama ‘uppity'...
By Mike Soraghan
Posted: 09/04/08 03:07 PM
Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland used the racially-tinged term "uppity" to describe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Thursday.

Westmoreland was discussing vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech with reporters outside the House chamber and was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.

"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.

Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.” ...

1. We Can Expect More Displays of Blatant Racism on TV
The Mighty Slime Machine is going to try to legitimize racism as much as possible over the next couple of months to help McAin't.

2. Didn't Westmoreland get the memo to only talk in code?
The words elitist black are A OK by the Republicons, but the real words uppity black are not allowed.

The destructive Republicon party seem to want to keep American black families down at around stepping level, but are allowing their nasty mouthed white women to think they are equals.

The repukes will put the women back in their place once they are done using them.

3. I can understand why they asked her to clarify.
The way I'm reading her grammar, Michele Obama thinks Michele Obama is uppity? Or do the "elitist" unnamed individuals think the Obamas are "uppity"? Which would be all the people wearing Obama/Biden buttons, right?

7. Just teasing ya, H2O Man. You spoke true...it's exactly what Westmoreland and
his ilk are thinking.

I'm from Georgia and a good deal of my family still lives there. In talks over the phone, my sister tells me she hears it all the time now, that "Obama is uppity" and "he thinks he's better than he is" (yet another code phrase)
